CSI #25

Tonight I made a 6"x6" layout for the CSI Challenge #25.  I chose one of my daughter Laura's Senior photos to feature.  The colors worked out perfectly with the Challenge.  The picture was taken in 2002 (she graduated in 2003 =).  The papers I used are from the CSI Coordinates.  Most of the embellishments are Close to My Heart.

Thanks for stopping to look =)

Where Does Time Go...?

City Crafter's Challenge this week is Time after Time - feature a clock somewhere in your project.  I have been creating 6x6 lay outs of favorite photos and decided to do one featuring this old photo taken in 1957 of me and my brother and sister.  I love that my mother had written the date on the bottom of the photo - I love having her handwriting on it!!  The DP is Prima 6x6 paper stack The Almanac.  The ribbon and crocheted mini doilies are Close to My Heart.  The flowers are Recollections.

CSI #24

I am definitely hooked on the Color... Stories... Inspiration... Challenges!!  I have chosen (for now) to create 6x6 layouts featuring one or two favorite old photos.  I guess I have come to realize that I have so many pictures and there is no way I will ever have the time to Scrapbook my kids early years, so this is the next best thing!!  I am loving this Challenge.

This week the colors were a perfect match for a favorite photo taken in the Summer of '93 (okay, maybe '94, unfortunately not really sure...).  This picture was taken at our family Beach House.  My sister and her daughter were there as well as my daughter and a friend of hers.  We got into face painting and Scott and his best buddy Zachary wanted to be dogs.  They were the best of friends.  However, as much as they loved to be together, they always ended up driving each other CrAzY!!  My son Scott was a very serious and sensitive boy.  Zachary was the opposite.  He thought about what he was doing AfTeR he did it!!  But, as opposite as they were, they had so much fun together!!

Tuesday Morning Sketches #151

Tonight I created a Birthday card using the Sketch from this week's Challenge at Tuesday Morning Sketches.  I used a new to me stamp from Lili of the Valley.  How cute is that little girl carrying that BIG cake?!?!?  I colored her in with Copic markers and then fussy cut her out.  I added Liquid Glass (Close to My Heart) to the icing and her cute stars attached to her headband.  The papers are from Bo Bunny - Country Garden Collection.  The embellishments are from my stash.

Thanks so much for stopping by!!

Tiddly Tuesday

Tonight I made a card using a sweet image from Tiddly Inks - Wryn.  She is all set to head to the beach!!  I don't know about where you live, but we have a heat wave coming tomorrow and I'm guessing the beaches around here will be a very popular place!!

I used the sketch from Sweet Sketch Wednesday and the Challenge at Tiddly Inks "Tiddly Tuesday" was PINK!!  My papers are My Mind's Eye fine and dandy - Girl.  The image is colored with Copics, fussy cut and mounted with Pop Dots.  The brads, buttons and sentiment are all Close to My Heart.

Hope you are all having a great week!!

{Freshly Made} Sketches

One last post before I fall asleep - A sweet lady at my Church is having a Birthday this week so I made her a card based on the sketch over at {Freshly Made} Sketches.  This week they of course had the Sketch and also added a twist of keeping the lines clean!!!  The DP is from My Mind's Eye Miss Caroline - Fiddlesticks.  The stamp is from Verve and stamped with CtMH Juniper Ink.  The pearls are also CtMH.

Good Night!!

C.S.I. #23

Time to post another CSI (Color, Stories, Inspiration) layout.  My "investigation" is complete.  I have solved the case!!

My parents had 8 Grandchildren - or we can call them 8 Cousins.  The oldest are now 40 and the youngest (my son) is 24.  Even though there was a 16 year span, the cousins are all close (I love that).  5 of the 8 attended Gordon College in Wenham, MA.  In 1993 Karl, Matt and Mike were all students.  My neice Katie informed me today of the date this picture was taken.  She rembered that it was her birthday - the question was what year.  Well Mike married a girl he met there, Kellie.  Mike and Kellie are visiting for Father's Day weekend and she knew the year - 1993.  It was Sibling weekend and we had all gone up for the day.  It was a bit overcast, but we had a great day.  This picture is one of my favorites of the Cousins all together (and we do have many... =)

I am making all of my CSI layouts 6"x6" and featuring (usually) one favorite photo.

Thanks so much for stopping by...
I really do appreciate it!!

A Day at the Beach =)

Couldn't wait to make this card late last night...  Sometimes I get these cards in my head and just have to get started...  does that happen to you fellow paper crafters???  I love seeing what it turns out to be in the end.  I must admit I am a bit tired this morning and am totally enjoying my coffee!!

The image of course is from the Saturated Canary.  Love, love, love this little girl!!  Having spent my summers growing up at the family beach house in Pocasset on Cape Cod, I was immediately drawn to this image =)  I used the sketch from {Freshly Made} Sketches and the color inspiration from The Color Throwdown.  I love the colors - my favorite combo is blue and yellow!!  (Must be the Swedish in me...).  I am also entering this card in the Papertake Weekly Challenge - 3-2-1 (3 buttons, 2 DP, 1 Image) and Saturated Canary - Anything Goes.  This is a first for me to enter one card in 4 Challenges...  but with out planning, they all seem to fit.

CS - Close to My Heart
Image - Saturated Canary - colored with Copics
Sentiment - Lili of the Valley

Father's Day... Comin' up!!

Father's Day has become a large family celebration which includes more than just family.  We started celebrating Father's Day many years ago at our family Beach House.  We would always take a picture of the grandchildren, have a cook out and play croquet and wiffle ball.  My Dad passed away 6 years ago, but we still gather at the Beach House for Father's Day.  It is an unspoken tradition that just "happens" and has grown to extended family and friends.  I hear 50+ are expected this year!!  That's a lot of burgers and dogs!!   I'm posting a pic from 18 years ago...  Michael was missing that year so the "kids" concocted a stand in for him - can you tell which one that is??

The card I made is for my husband and is based on the Sketch at Retro Sketches and the Color Challenge at Perfect Sentiment
The DP is from Echo Park Note to Self by Lori Whitlock.  The CS and ribbon is from my stash and the brads are CtMH.  The stamp ENJOY your day is from Verve.

Happy Wedding Day Kay!!!

Unscripted Sketches #162

Once again I am combining the Sketch from Unscripted Sketches with CSI Color... Stories... Inspiration.  I love the sketches at US - they lend themselves to a small layout or a card.  I am trying to take some of my favorite older pics and do 6 x 6 layouts.  I love to work on the smaller scale and these sketches and the CSI inspiration are perfect together!!

Today I made a layout of two photos that I love taken on the 4th of July, 1992.  Scott had been "upset" about something and my husband just threw him over his shoulder to go have a talk.  The emotions were short lived and the day went on with smiles.  I love the back drop of the flag.  We had so many great pool parties on the 4th of July at my Aunt Grace's house.  Great memories!!
My DP is from CSI Coordinates.  The ribbon, brad and stars (colored with Copics) are CtMH.

Thanks so much for visiting!!

The Shabby Tea Room

I made this card yesterday but ran out of time to post it.  I used the Inspiration from The Shabby Tea Room perfect colors for the card I wanted to make!!  I couldn't come up with a sketch challenge to do, so I went free style ; )

The DP is My Mind's Eye and the ribbon and pearls are CtMH.  The image is a stamp from Lili of the Valley colored in with Copics and then Fussy Cut and mounted with Pop Dots.

Bridal Shower Card!!

Tonight I made a card for my daughter who is going to one of her college team mates Bridal Showers tomorrow.  Laura has been a Gymnast since she was 7 right through college and is now coaching.  She asked me to make a card a week ago so of course, I wait until the night before...  I chose to use the Sketch from {Freshly Made} Sketches.  The lay out was perfect to feature the awesome Hydrangea stamp I purchased from the Crafts Meow.  The DP is My Mind's Eye and the image is colored in with Copics.  I used crocheted trim and three pearls from my stash to finish it off.

Thanks for visiting!!

Graduation Card

One more post for tonight.  I found a cute Graduate image at the Saturated Canary Shop and needed one more Grad card - so - I got right on it tonight.  The image is colored with Copics.  The DP is from Bo Bunny - Country Garden Collection.  I used ribbon and a pretty blue button from my stash.  The Sketch is from Sweet Sketch Wednesday and their sponsor is Saturated Canary =)  So, I am also entering this card in their Challenge - Anything Goes.

Keeping this post short as I am ready for SLEEEEP...

Good Night All...

Saturated Canary

Today I purchased a handful of images from Saturated Canary.  I have never used them before but find them fascinating.  I must admit I was not so sure I would be able to do them justice with my coloring, but for a first attempt I think they came out alright...

The fist is a birthday card for my friends daughter.  She LOVES to read so I thought this image would be perfect.  The sketch is from Tuesday Morning Sketches.  I used papers from My Mind's Eye So Sophie - Graceful.  I colored the image with Copics and fussy cut her out and mounted her with Pop Dots.   The ribbon and flower are from my stash.

I am entering this card in the following Challenges:

Tuesday Morning Sketches - Sketch
Saturated Canary - Anything Goes
Papertake Weekly Challenge - Anything Goes
